The Krasnow Institute is located on the Fairfax campus of George Mason University.
Directions to the Krasnow Institute
From I-66:
- Take I-66 to Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) Exit 60-South.
- Follow Route 123 south through Fairfax City approximately 5 miles to Braddock Road (state Route 620) (You will pass the GMU Field House on the right.) Turn left onto Braddock Road.
- At the first light on Braddock turn left onto Roanoke River Road (Roanoke Lane).
- Merge right onto Patriot Circle, going past the Patriot Center building on your right, the pond on your left.
- Continue counterclockwise on Patriot Circle until you come to the three-way stop at Shenandoah River Lane.
- Turn right onto Shenandoah River Lane.
- Turn left at the next opportunity onto Rockfish Creek Lane. You will see the Krasnow Institute Building and parking lot on the right.
- If you do not have a GMU faculty/staff parking hangtag or specific prior arrangements made by your host, you are directed to park in the metered lot across Shenandoah River Lane ($.25/10 min, quarters only) or in either of the campus parking decks ($2.00/hour).
- If you have a current GMU faculty/staff parking hangtag, you may park in the lot at the Krasnow Building, however, available spaces are not guaranteed. As necessary, use other faculty/staff parking on campus.
From I-495:
- Take I-495 to Braddock Road (state Route 620) Exit 54A West .
- Follow Route 620 west approximately 6 miles.
- Turn right onto Roanoke River Road (Roanoke Lane) which is the second entrance you will come to for the George Mason campus.
- Merge right onto Patriot Circle, going past the Patriot Center building on your right, the pond on your left.
- Continue counterclockwise on Patriot Circle until you come to the three-way stop at Shenandoah River Lane.
- Turn right onto Shenandoah River Lane.
- Turn left at the next opportunity onto Rockfish Creek Lane. You will see the Krasnow Institute Building and parking lot on the right.

From Vienna/Fairfax - GMU Metro
The Vienna/Fairfax-GMU metro station, at the end of the orange line in Virginia, is the closest metro stop to the Krasnow Institute. From the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU metro station there are two options for getting to the Institute.
- Take the CUE bus to GMU campus and walk to the Krasnow building. The CUE bus has 4 lines all of which have GMU and the Metro as designated stops (no need to pull the stop cord to get the bus to stop). The CUE buses wait on the North side of the station. Turn left after exiting the turnstiles. All CUE lines will take you to GMU in 35minutes, but the Gold 1 might be the quickest. From this link you can see the location of the Krasnow building. The CUE bus stop is labeled in this map. It's an enjoyable 10-15 minute walk on a nice day from the bus stop to the Krasnow bldg. Bus fare is 75 cents. (10/07)
- Take a cab from the Metro to the Krasnow building. Estimated fare is $14 (10/07). Cabs wait on the North side of the station. The Krasnow Institute street address is 4461 Rockfish Creek Lane on the GMU Fairfax campus. (It might be helpful to have this campus map on hand.)
